Many of the luscious sounding products on the market today boast wonderful ingredients such as olive oil, aloe vera, hemp, jojoba, Cocoa or Shea butter. Sadly they can often contain precious little of any of them.
At ‘Jislac’ we think this is a shame. If we call something ‘Olive soap’ that’s exactly what it will be. In the case of our Castile Soap 100% Olive Oil, just as it should be. The rest of our soaps will contain lashings (at least 50%) of Olive Oil.
We believe in making all our products by hand,
blending our own fragrances and printing our
own labels.
And the botanicals? Well most of those are
grown in our own or a friends garden. Without
pesticides – naturally.Have you noticed how toiletries, bath, and
body products contain ingredients listings running from 20 to 30 items?
The longer the ingredients list the harder it is to decide whether a product is something we would be willing to use on our skin, if only we knew what each ingredient represented and it’s purpose.
This is why we keep it simple. Simple bath and body products can work just as effectively to cleanse and pamper your skin, and when quality ingredients are used in abundance more luxurious. Our philosophy?
To use oodles of the best quality ingredients but to keep it simple but effective. No man made surfactants, no animal fats, no artifical colorants, fragrances or preservatives.
Treat your skin – your Body’s largest organ – with respect.
So how do we make our soap?
While embracing newer techniques such as water discounting our manufacturing process still follows the traditional “Cold Process” method which retains the soaps natural glycerine, a most desirable by product of the saponification process. It remains in our soap as a natural humecant for your skin.** Most commercial soap manufacturers remove glycerine from their soaps as a result of the industrial process.
